Who we are…

Black Hare Marketing & Events is owned and lead by Chrissie Rowell, BA (Hons), MSc and was established in 2015.

Chrissie brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge from seventeen years of experience as a Creative Director in marketing, PR and event management as well as eight years of experience as a business and marketing lecturer in a University setting, working with undergraduates, postgraduates and local businesses through funded re-skill projects. Through her work with Black Hare she brings a fierce attention to detail and leads a team of creatives and event assistants to make every part of your project or event run like clockwork - with every aspect executed to plan.

We work with the very best suppliers and pride ourselves on the results. Our creatives and suppliers have been vetted for their experience and professionalism, not to mention their credentials, insurance and suitable terms and conditions. When it comes to events, we arrange contingencies, troubleshoot and iron out problems quickly and efficiently - all without you even breaking a sweat.

  • I supported myself through university as a mature student by assisting with wedding co-ordination, which I loved! Then a few years later I started my career in marketing as a copywriter, but I am also passionate about making great visual impressions - so I quickly moved into creative side of marketing and haven’t looked back since. I am thrilled to be able to combine both passions through Black Hare and support businesses with visual brand development and events - they often go hand in hand.

    1. Authenticity - allow the personalities of your founder and your core values to shine through your business.

    2. Creativity - you don’t have to be quirky or weird for the sake of it, but a creative approach to your brand’s image will ensure it’s memorable.

    3. Consistency - sticking to brand guidelines helps to maintain a strong image that becomes recognisable and pleasing to the eye.

  • A killer eye for detail, a charming personality and a slightly obsessive nature helps. Being able to envisage how something will come together before it actually has, is not a skill everyone has!

  • I love reading, writing fiction, gardening and sun-worshipping. I spend most of my free time with my husband and two children and I confess when I’m not working hard, I am a bit of a couch potato - I love a TV binge or a good film, with copious snacks of course.

  • I’ve always loved hares - they’re so beautiful and intriguing to me. They also have qualities that represent the way I like to do business - they’re lean, flexible, accutely observant and they are pretty quick too! And black is simply my favourite colour.
